new park in durbin crossing JCP Assessment Fees 2009
Below is email correspondence between my self & JCP CDD.... I thought the fees went up plenty enough last year. This is one meeting I do not plan on missing......... Dear Ms. xxxx, Thank you for your interest. Most likely the CDD assessment will need to change this year due to the costs of operating our new recreation facility which will open at the end of the summer. Every effort is going toward making any increase as small as possible. Projected program revenue that the new recreation facility will be able to generate for our community will go a long way toward keeping our CDD fees lower than most (if not all) other area CDD’s. The exact amount of the fees, as well at the entire JCP CDD budget, for Fiscal Year 2009 will be discussed at a public hearing on August 12th, 2008 at Fruit Cove Middle School at 6pm. All homeowners are welcome to come and see what is on the horizon for our great community. Respectfully,Shelly Timbol Way to go, JCP HOA!!!!
More pro-action from JCP's HOA board! I noticed signs put out where some idiots had been peeling out on the sod. They stated that "YOU are paying for this!" (most likely not, the parents, yes) And also let the morons know that there would be a reward for information leading to the ARREST of the perps. Maybe if these idiots learn that it's NOT all fun and games, and they CAN and WILL go to jail, they will think twice. Also, I plan on discretely placing a few of my digital game cameras in public areas around my neighborhood. The kind that go off if there is motion within x amount of feet. I guess I will get some shots of Nanuck cutting the grass, but I might also get the retards that are "offroading" in daddy's hummer. Legal? Probably not, but I ain't gonna tell. Who's to say if I saw it or my camera. Art & Music Festival
Did anyone attend the Creeks Art & Music Festival at Veterans Park? We were out at Veterans Park finishing up Soccer Camp on Saturday. Then we checked out the music and food. It was really nice. My kids loved the music and of course the ice cream. It was a nice little local event, you didn't have to drive to St Augustine. There were many different vendors selling artsy stuff. I'm sure there will be more events held at Veterans Park in the future.
IS YOUR TEEN DEPRESSED?
Jena was 14 years old. Her mother will never understand what happened on her daughter's life, something so terrible, that pushed her to finish her own life. Two days ago, she was going to go to the mall with her friends one afternoon. She seemed very excited about it. Her mother was happy too, Jena had been kind of quiet and sad lately, and she had occasionally complained about her appearance, nothing strange in a teenage girl. Who didn't feel unhappy sometimes with her body while going thought adolescence? However, Jena wasn't only experimenting those "natural" changes on her young life, she was also going through a hard time, being bullied by other kids at school, and constantly critized by one of her teachers. She had become the target of prank calls, and despite of this stress, Jena never told anyone about it, because she felt that no one really cared about her feelings. Jena was suffering of deep depression, the quiet killer condition of hundreds of teens today in our society. St. Johns Youth Briefs — June 28-July 5

Your Daily Dose?
As the days and weeks have passed, I've started to wonder whether the Daily Dose was something interesting on the website, or whether it just took up a bunch of space on the Blogs page. So I'd like to ask you for your thoughts. Do you want to continue to see the Daily Dose posted, or have you had your fill of (incredibly interesting) web videos at this point? As this is your website, what you want matters most. Let us know what you think.
Young Voices
Young Voices...all it takes is one... Wow – what a letter – I have three children who are all a bit older than Justin and I’ve been telling them all their lives that “it only takes one” but it definitely has more impact when told by someone who’s been there. The flip side is that it only takes one person like you, Justin , to turn a life around – yours or someone else’s. You are insightful, intelligent and gifted; a very good or very bad combination depending upon how you choose to channel your energies. Making a change in your own life is much more difficult than helping another person do the same. You have my respect and admiration for choosing what must be, for you and so many others, the more difficult path. And while I agree that the support of a loving family and friends is extremely important, in the end it really does come down to just you and the work you are willing to do. Thank you for your letter – I am going to send it on to my children and to all the children I know... maybe the “one” it will take for someone else right now is you. |
