Top 100 St. Johns County runners
Not the top 100 ever, just the top 100 from this weekend's Gate River Run. (hint: if you're looking for a particular name, and don't feel like scrolling through the entire list, trying hitting CTRL + F on your keyboard to bring up a search box) Also to note: A runner's Chip Time did not determine the overall rank, the Gun Time did. So if one runner with a slower time seems to have a higher rank, it's because their Gun Time was better than another runner's Chip Time. Confusing? Yes. Overall Rank Name, Age and Hometown Chip Time 47 "Mike Hensley, 22, Ponte Vedra, FL" 51:02:00 78 "Theodore Devos, 29, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL" 53:38:00 157 "Paul Wilson, 39, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL" 58:44:00 183 "Sylvere Belliot, 36, Ponte Vedra Beach, FL" 59:57:00 Related: read more | login or register to post comments | Tags: gate river run | gate river run results | results | run results

What do you think about the property tax amendment?
The Times-Union editorial staff recently submitted the following question to its e-mail list of residents regarding the Property Tax amendment: “If passed, the constitutional amendment on property taxes will double the personal homestead exemption and save the average homestead property owner about $225 a year. Supporters say government is fat and needs to be forced to cut spending. Opponents say this approach for cutting taxes is all wrong and that the potential damage to local government services isn’t worth the annual savings. What is your view and why?" Here are some of the responses sent to My St. Johns Sun. If you have thoughts on this topic, please create a username and post a comment. Sex offender database
We now have a searchable sex offender database here on MyStJohnsSun.com. You can search by zip code, county, city and even whether the person is a sexual offender or sexual predator. The results will show you the offender's picture, current address and other information. The results will also be plotted on a map. All information in our database is from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement, but if you have any questions about how to use the database, feel free to comment on this blog and ask me. You will find it by hovering your mouse over the "News" tab in the black menu bar up top, or you can click here:
