golf team try outs

st. johns travel team
The St. Johns Travel Team Wildcats are still looking for football players and cheerleaders. The cut off date has been extended to July 7 for the invitation for 12-14 year old to attend the free summer camp. Practice location is Palencia, 6-8 p.m. Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. drama camp
Switzerland Point Middle School hosts drama camp July 7-10 for rising 8th and 9th grade students. July 14-17 and July 21-24 for rising 6th through 9th grade students. camps for children with disabilities
The Diocese of Saint Augustine provides summer residential camp programs for children with disabilities at Camp St. Johns, 415 Marywood Drive, off of State Road 13 in the Switzerland area. Camps are categorized as follows:
Camp I Am Special (ages 6-13)
Camp Promise (ages 14-30)
Camp Care (for persons with autism and related disorders ages 6 and up)
One new session for adults 30 and up.
The camp staff is comprised of well trained high school and college students called buddies that serve persons with mental retardation, Down syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, ADHD, Autism, Fragile X syndrome and other disabilities. birds 101 for kids
July 15, 10-11:30 a.m. the GTM Research Reserve will host an “all about birds” class. Kids will learn interesting bird facts, beginning bird identification and play bird bingo. learn to swim this summer!
The St. Johns County Recreation Department and the St. Augustine Swim Team will host a swim program to teach the basics to kids ages 3 and older. Lessons are held Monday - Thursday of each week. The Annual Junior Lifeguard Summer Program
Try-outs for the Junior Lifeguard Program are held at the Willie Galimore Center, Monday - Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday, 10:30 a.m.-5 p.m. All participants must be between 9 and fifteen years old. pretend mini camp
July 21-25, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 10 a.m. to noon the Limelight Theatre host Let’s Pretend Mini Camp for students K-2nd grade to provide a taste of theatre by playing simple games, learning songs and poems, creating a special world to perform and play in. surf camp
Surf into Summer Surf Camp will teach kids to master the waves. The camps will be held at Jacksonville, Ponte Vedra and St. Augustine Beaches. The camps average a ratio of two or three kids to each surf instructor. Campers learn not only the basics of paddling and how to stand on the board, but also beach and water safety. Open for ages seven and up. Camp runs Monday through Friday, 8:45 until 11:45 a.m. Cost is $195 a week, includes instruction, board rental, snack and end of week celebration. street light basketball program
Join the Recreation & Parks Department along with local community leaders at Ketterlinus Gym Friday, July 25th and August 1st from 8-10 p.m. to play late night basketball. To play, you must be between the ages of 12 - 18 and registered with the Recreation Department prior to participation. PASSAGES
PASSAGES is a workshop designed to give rising middle school girls an advantage by introducing them to life in middle school. PASSAGES offers girls the opportunity to make new friends and gain valuable life skills. They will learn organization tips, time management, study skills and more. They also get the chance to explore their new school before classes begin. Here are the dates and times of the PASSAGES programs:

Fruit Cove Middle School
July 28-29, July 30-31, Aug. 11-12 and Aug. 13-14, all from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Gamble Rodgers Middle School
Aug. 4-5, 9 a.m. to noon
Murray Middle School
August 4-7, 9 a.m. to noon.

estuary science camp
Friends of the Guana Tolomato Mantanzas (GTM) Research Reserve will host a five day Estuary Camp, July 28-Aug. 1 for students entering the fifth grade. The program is designed for students interested in learning about the plants, animals and environments around the estuary; includes classroom instruction, games, and experiments.
