My husband and I watched the County Commission Election Forum that was put on by the Record and the League of Women voters this evening.
It was pretty clear to us what the agendas are of certain candidates.
Al Abbattello spent most of the night trying to discredit Cyndi Stevenson who has spent the past 3.5 years serving the entire county in an honorable fashion. Al seems to think that this tactic will overshadow his glaring lack of platform. The only issue that he appears to have is to form citizen committees and to bring every important issue to a full county vote. All that would do is to put the county business at a standstill. Frozen. If you think that we have issues now, just see what would occur if he got his way.
Cyndi is quite intelligent, thoughtful in her approach, honest and concerned that the best decisions are made for the county as a whole.
Ben Rich appears to believe that he is entitled to his office and that he is incapable of doing no wrong. Well, guess what? Many of us are sick and tired of the demeaning nature that he maintains, insulting behavior that he exhibits and the embarrassment that he puts on a wonderful county full of wonderful people.
Mark Miner was well prepared, consistent, and had very logical answers that would be of great benefit to the county as a whole.
Ken Bryan appears to be so confident in his election that he spends much of his time campaigning for Ben Rich. I think that Ben Rich is in TROUBLE!
Randy Brunson has an intelligent and common sense approach. He certainly would not be controlled by the Three Amigos, as Ken Bryan would.
We need logical, common sense, independent thinkers on our Commission. I for one, am sick and tired of the committee rule maintained by Rich, Manuel and sometimes Sanchez. Ben Rich even uses that as part of his campaign. HOW INSULTING to all of the smart voters who live in St Johns County.
Please consider voting for Stevenson, Brunson and Miner for YOUR County Commission!
