Your Weekly Dose
Many of you may have noticed that our Blogs page is no longer weighted down with random internet videos posted on a daily basis. The Daily Dose we used to do was an experiment, and one I've learned from. Instead of sharing a video with you every day, I'm going to start a Weekly Dose. Our Blog paged has been filled with great posts from you, our readers, a lot recently, and I don't want to take away from that. I would like to offer each of you posters and readers a small break in the hectic world of St. Johns Sun blogging. I encourage you to continue posting and responding, but to also check the Weekly Dose to just check in with interesting things happening around the world you won't see on any other news outlet. These are things I find interesting and cool and think are worth sharing. Related: read more | MacMitchell's blog | login or register to post comments | Tags: Photography | TED.com | Weekly Dose
Your Daily Dose for June 10, 2008
In the following TED.com talk, Mark Bittman talks about what's wrong with how and what we eat. At first he seems smarmy and self righteous, but after just a minute or two he had me completely tuned in to what he was saying. It's informative and scary, and really, really worth watching. This talk actually inspired me to start eating much healthier a couple of weeks ago. Do yourself a favor and check out this talk. And feel free to send me boquets of fresh fruits and veggies as a thank you. Related: read more | MacMitchell's blog | login or register to post comments | Tags: Daily Dose | Eating Healthy | TED.com

On display in the following video is a prototype version of new computer desktop software, taking inspiration from a messy work desk. It looks really intuitive and really, really fun. I think this kind of interactive organization will be much more common in the very near future. Check out Bump Top. Well, it's got a lot to do with spaghetti sauce...check out the following talk by Malcolm Gladwell. It's an interesting look at the man who completely redifined how companies market to their consumers. Definitely worth watching. (Click 'read more' below for the video.)

Today's Daily Dose is a video from TED.com. TED is an annual conference focusing on Technology, Entertainment and Design. They have speakers from all around the world, speaking about all kinds of different things. I highly encourage you to visit their website, explore, and enjoy what you find. The video is an interesting and intriguing insight into the deeper meaning of 4 a.m., by a poet and artist named Rives. He's clearly extremely clever, and is obviously out for a laugh, but he just may be onto something...
